Our Philosophy

The AJCC ECE has provided quality and high-level Early Childhood Education to the Long Beach community since 1960. Children flourish in our Reggio Emilia-style program that emphasizes play-based learning at this crucial developmental stage. Our teachers are committed to staying ahead of ever-evolving research and techniques through year-round professional development.

Our Values

Our curriculum is interwoven with Jewish teachings and values that honor the uniqueness and potential of each child. Jewish holidays are observed through rituals, customs, and age-appropriate activities that create meaningful experiences and connections. Every child, regardless of their religion or background, is given the building blocks to discover and fortify their place in the world.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is child-centered and based on children’s interests and developmental needs. The curriculum contains components that support early brain development and provides sensory experiences and stimulating, language-rich interactions with adults and other children throughout the day. Early literacy is a major focus through reading, songs and fingerplays. The interests and needs of non-verbal children are included in planning through parent feedback and observational assessment of children’s experiences
